Radio Stories at the Pneumatic Center of Chania. For eight days, the Pneumatic Center of Chania hosts the Radio Day on the occasion of World Radio Day, which is celebrated every year on February 13.

From Thursday, February 13, 1925 to Thursday, February 20, 2025, an exhibition of radios and audio devices, transmitters and receivers will operate in the foyer of the Center’s amphitheater.

Radios, all of which have a story to tell. Devices from the interwar period, the Occupation and the years of reconstruction and prosperity of the country, as well as Greek radio.

Many of these are presented for the first time.

A special place is occupied by one of the first radios manufactured, of French origin, from the period 1919-21.

The historical collectibles come from the collections of: Nikos Lambrakis, Aretis Marmaritsakis, Giorgos Papadokokolakis, Dimitris Rainakis, Pavlos Souvlakis, Nikolaos Chavredakis and Emmanuel Christodoulakis.

The exhibition is curated by Lefteris Lambrakis.

The exhibition is co-organized by the Region of Crete – Regional Unit of Chania and the Cultural Center of Chania.

Opening Days: Thursday, February 13, 2025 – Thursday, February 20, 2025.

Opening Hours: 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m.
