The Municipality of Chania honoring the European Music Festival, as well as the 42 years since its celebration, is organizing various events from morning to evening, on Friday June 21, with free entry for the public.

The European Festival of Music, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, was established on 21 June 1982 – a symbolic date due to the summer solstice – at the initiative of the French Minister of Culture at the time Jack Lang and with the support of the French Ministry of Culture, with the aim for “all the musicians to come out to the streets” .

Thus, for one more year, the Municipality of Chania participates in the spirit of the European Music Festival, and organizes the following events in reference points of our Municipality:

Friday 21 June 2024:

10.00 am: Municipal Garden of Chania/ Tribe music with Ron Stephenson.

19.30 pm: Metropolis ( Cathedral ) / Artistic music with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Chania.

20.30 pm: Russian Barracks/ Traditional music with the band of Harchalis.

8:30 p.m.: Nea Chora Pier/ Folk music with the Chania musical group Kat’ Odon.
