
Chopin – Complete Nocturnes vol II, Piano Recital with Dimitris Mimidis, Sunday 27.04, “Mikis Theodorakis” Theater at 20.00
Frédéric Chopin’s Nocturnes consist of a total of 21 works, which were written between 1827 and 1846. This set of Chopin’s works is considered one of the most exquisite compositions for solo piano, while they also hold a prominent place in the world piano repertoire.
Dimitris Mimidis
Pianist Dimitris Mimidis was born in Thessaloniki and raised in Rethymno.
He studied and graduated from the Music Horizons Conservatory, obtaining a piano diploma with honors, while he then continued his musical studies at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, with a Master’s degree and a scholarship from the Hungarian government, as well as a basic degree as a piano and chamber music performer respectively under the guidance of internationally renowned pianists such as Ferenc Rados, Andras Kemenes, Csalog Gabor and Marta Gulyas.
In recent years, he has been working as a piano and chamber music professor in Greece, while maintaining the role of artistic director at the Rethymno Art Center.
His artistic activity includes recitals as a soloist and appearances with various chamber music ensembles in Greece, Hungary, France, Austria as well as participation in several festivals.
